  Mr Khoon Goh, Head of Asia Research, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group

Khoon is the Head of Asia Research for ANZ. He oversees and co-ordinates the Asia economics and strategy research functions in Singapore. His particular area of focus is on Asian currencies. Khoon actively travels to market ANZ’s views to investor clients, such as central banks, hedge funds and real money; as well as corporate clients. He also appears regularly in the media.

ANZ’s Asia research team have been ranked in the top two for FX Research and Market Coverage as voted by financial institutions in the AsiaMoney FX Poll in the last five years (2012 to 2016). ANZ was also ranked second for best regional team for Asian macroeconomic research in the AsiaMoney Fixed Income Poll 2016, and ranked first for two years running in the KangaNews Fixed-Income Research Polls in 2015 and 2016 for best research on Asian markets. ANZ was the top EM Asia FX forecaster in 2015 as ranked by Bloomberg and Reuters.

Khoon has over 15 years of experience working in various economic and strategy roles across both the public and private sectors. Graduating with a Master of Commerce (Hons) degree majoring in International Economics from the University of Auckland, Khoon was the Manager in charge of the New Zealand Treasury's Macroeconomic Forecasting Team where he was responsible for producing the official government forecasts that underpin the Budget and key policy decisions. He also served as an Economic Adviser at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. 
    Mr Shanker Iyer, Founder & Chairman, Iyer Practice

Shanker is the Founder and Chairman of Iyer Practice, a specialist advisory firm, with offices in Singapore and Hong Kong, and over 70 professional staff.

He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in London and was a Partner of a leading accounting firm in the UK for over 10 years.

Shanker is currently Chairman of the International Fiscal Association, Singapore Branch, and is also Chairman of the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce's Tax Policy Committee. He is a past Chairman of the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce, European Chamber of Commerce and British Chamber of Commerce.

With extensive experience spanning over four decades, Shanker has built an expertise in advising privately-held businesses, high net-work individuals and family offices, on a wide range of international tax, regulatory, immigration and trust matters.


  Mr Francis Tan, Economist, United Overseas Bank

Francis is an economist with the United Overseas Bank’s Global Economics & Markets Research team. His interest is in the field of development and financial economics, where he is passionate about the future development and economic opportunities for ASEAN nations via financial innovation. While going about his daily research work running economic models and crafting reports, he also provides regular economics commentaries in the media.

Before joining UOB in 2012, Francis was an investment strategist at Phillip Capital and had also served as an Investment Manager with the Royal Bank of Scotland. His career also included stints as an economist at the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Singapore Tourism Board.

  Mr Devadas Krishnadas, CEO, Future-Moves Group (Moderator)

Devadas is the Founder and CEO of Future-Moves Group Pte. Ltd (FMG), a strategic management consulting firm headquartered in Singapore. He is also an Independent Director of reinsurance firm PartnerRe Asia Pte. Ltd. and the direct insurer, Auto & General Insurance Singapore Pte. Ltd.

Prior to founding FMG, Devadas spent over 15 years in the Singapore Government, playing a key role in developing Singapore’s security, fiscal and social policies. During his time in the Singapore public service, he successfully led efforts in long-term planning, Budget coordination, and effective economic strategic thinking.

Devadas is also a recognised public intellectual and author. His latest book, The Seduction of the Simple, an anthology of his public commentaries, was released in 2016.
