5 Key Skills Needed in the Digital Economy

The impact of emerging technologies like robots, artificial intelligence and machine learning are already starting to be felt throughout our economy. While these technologies can help improve productivity and the quality of goods and services, they will also displace workers. What skills and capabilities do workers need to survive as digitalisation takes hold?

The Chamber has invited Dr Jaclyn Lee, Senior Director of Human Resources & Head of HR Technology and Analytics, Singapore University of Technology and Design to share her thoughts on this topic on 9 November.

Dr Lee will elaborate on the 5 key skills that we all need to embrace the future and stay usefully employed.

  Dr Jaclyn Lee is currently the Senior Director, Human Resources and Head of HR Technology and Analytics, for The Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Jaclyn has over 25 years of HR experience and was previously Senior Vice President, Group Human Resources for Certis CISCO Security Pte Ltd and Regional HR Director for NEC Solutions Asia Pacific.

She participates actively in conferences as a speaker and has spoken at close to 60 local and international conferences on topics ranging from the future of work to future skills, as well as the use of Big Data in Human Resources.

Jaclyn is the recipient of the Outstanding Contribution to HR Award (HRM Asia 2017) as well as the Leading HR Leader Award at the annual SHRI Awards for 2008. On top of being a volunteer HR Director in SPRING Singapore’s initiative to drive good HR practices in SMEs, she is also a member of the Professional Practices Committee of the Institute for Human Resource Professionals, and a member of the Human Capital Policy Advisory Committee for SPRING Singapore.
